What is A Will?
A last will and testament is a legal document that states how someone’s property will be handled after their death. Wills are so important that most legal and financial professionals recommend that all adults have wills but in 2010 Forbes.com reported that a survey showed that only 35% of Americans have one. A large portion of the people surveyed mistakenly believed that they didn’t need wills because their estate wasn’t large enough. Apparently a lot of people don’t understand the importance of a will or the difference it makes in transferring property and easing family tensions, especially in families with more than one marriage. When someone dies without a will, their property is transferred according to state law.
Wills the Process
Just Document Preparation makes it easy to have your will prepared. When we prepare your will, our knowledge and experience help to avoid the problems associated with online forms, forms bought from the office supply store and handwritten wills. These forms, along with handwritten wills are too generic. Although they are accepted at the court, they are sometimes missing language that could make the process of transferring property faster, easier and less expensive. Our team can schedule appointments the same or next day to begin. After your first appointment where we get the information we need, we can usually have your will ready within a few days for the signing.
